Celebrating our colleagues

Yep, our colleagues are amazing. The unique strengths and talents they bring to the table every single day is what makes Yorkshire Housing the amazing place that it is. We love making a big deal out of our people and their incredible achievements, it’s a big part of our company culture. Here’s the lowdown on how we celebrate colleagues:

We use Perkbox for celebrating colleagues day-to-day. Managers can reward their team members for doing a fab job or celebrate workiversaries with Perkbox rewards that can be turned into vouchers to spend.

Colleagues can also recognise each other for great work linked to our company values. You see, we’re big on peer-to-peer celebration, and believe recognition should come from everyone (not just from the top). Every quarter, we recognise the unsung heroes within the business with our ‘Best of Yorkshire’ awards!

So, what awards are up for grabs?

Outstanding individual of the quarter

For individuals who achieve exceptional things and live our values! This might be for a specific contribution to a project or doing some fab work.

Team of the quarter

Teamwork makes the dream work right? This award recognises a group of colleagues who've worked together to live our values.

Customer hero of the quarter

For colleagues who’ve gone above and beyond to do something extraordinary to help our customers!

Service star of the quarter

Pulled from our customer compliments this award recognises our customer-facing colleagues who go out of their way to do something special for our customers.

Who chooses the winner?

Our colleague forum see all the nominations and vote for their winners, selecting a shortlist. The shortlist then goes to our executive team and directors, who have the final say. Our CEO, Nick, announces the winners and vouchers are given to the winners to buy themselves a treat!
