Community independence

Our communities are more important than ever – where we live isn’t just about our homes, it’s about the people who live next door or round the corner and the facilities and opportunities we have close to us.

And, at Yorkshire Housing, we love helping you make your community something you want to be a part of. Our focus is on doing the kind of stuff that promotes health, wellness and self-confidence – the sort of things that make you feel inspired, excited and positive about being part of your community.

Check out the different ways we do that and the impact we’re making.

Community spaces

We’ve got 14 community spaces across Yorkshire. From youth groups to coffee mornings and exercise classes to training sessions, they can be used for a whole host of activities.

Community grants and charity fundraising

Did you know there are grants of up to £500 available for your community? You could set up a community garden or an afterschool programme or something else that takes your fancy. We can also help you raise money for a local charity that’s close to your heart by helping you out with fundraising events and activities.

Projects

We’re big on working together to grow and nurture communities we’re proud of.  At the moment, we’re working with the Big Local Trust at Dewsbury Moor, helping them with projects that will make a big difference to the community.

Our impact

With such a lot going on in our communities, it’s good to take a step back now and again and look at the difference our work is making to the people living in these communities.
