Garden awards 2026

Calling all green thumbs, plant lovers, and garden whisperers! It's time to showcase your garden! Whether you’ve cultivated a cosy urban oasis, a sustainable paradise, collaborated with a local group or your neighbours, this award is for you!

Get ready to dig deep and make your garden glory known - let the garden greatness begin!

How the garden awards work

We’re on the lookout for the best of the best gardens, and that means our entry form is open to nominate yourself, your neighbours, and our colleagues can also nominate gardens they spot along the way too.

When we close entries on 27^th July, we’ll pick the top ten and drop by to see it for ourselves (we’ll be in touch if yours is picked). And after this visit we’ll pick the winners!

The prizes

The top ten finalists will get a gardening bundle:

Gift voucher worth £25
Five packs of seeds
A hand-painted plant pot

And the five winners will get their green fingers on the ultimate prize, a Yorkshire Housing garden awards trophy and their voucher will be topped up to £100, too!

Impress the judges

The awards are all about celebrating gardens, and that means gardens created through teamwork with your neighbours, sustainable solutions you’re using or maybe your indoor oasis! So no matter if you have a sprawling outdoor garden, or a few potted plants on your kitchen window – we’d love to see it.

Dates for your diary

Competition closes at 11:59pm on 27^th July 2026
We’ll visit the top ten entrants between 17^th and 23^rd August 2026 (if you’re unavailable during these dates we’re happy to arrange an alternative)
Final judging will happen at Yorkshire Housing by Friday 28^th August 2026.
Winners will be sent a celebration email and invited to an in person awards ceremony, taking place in September.

FAQs

If you live in a Yorkshire Housing home, you can nominate your own garden, communal space or your neighbour’s garden (with their permission if they’re also a Yorkshire Housing customer), or someone else can nominate you. We’ll also be encouraging our colleagues to be on the lookout for well kept gardens to nominate too.
