What’s the Your Voice Matters group?

The Your Voice Matters group brings together Yorkshire Housing customers from all ages and backgrounds to have their say about us. We need to hear from you to help us improve our services and be the best housing provider we can be. Joining the group gives you the opportunity to ‘tell it like it is’ and get involved with some exciting opportunities to make the customer experience better for everyone.

Joining the Your Voice Matters group

By joining the Your Voice Matters group, you’ll get to:

  • Have your say about how we deliver our services
  • Learn more about us and what we do
  • Gain new skills, knowledge and experience to boost your CV
  • Meet new people and improve your confidence

What types of things will I be involved in?

You’ll be getting together with others from the Yorkshire Housing community to talk about what it’s like to be one of our customers. There’s always room for improvement so we want to hear your ideas and suggestions!

Most of the time, we meet online. But from time to time, we hold face-to-face focus groups and workshops which gives us the chance to get stuck into big issues or topics that we need to focus our attention on.

You can also take part by completing the surveys and polls that we send out to group members.

FAQs

It doesn’t matter if you’re a customer who rents, a leasehold customer or a shared ownership customer - if you’re a Yorkshire Housing customer, you’re in! We’d love any of our customers, from all ages and backgrounds, to get involved.

Even if you're not a Yorkshire Housing customer, but you live with someone who is, we'd love to hear from you!

It’s completely up to you! One of the great things about being part of the group is that you can be involved as much or as little as you like.

Some of our customers just read our newsletters or respond to a few surveys, and that’s okay.  Others take part in our focus groups or get involved in our Customer Voice and Review Committee.

We know everyone’s got busy lives and we’ll never put pressure on you to do more. We’re happy for you to decide what works for you.

No, the group is free to join. We’ll never ask you for any payment details or charge you to be part of the group. And if you do ever have any ‘out of pocket expenses’, such as transport costs if we ask you to attend a face-to-face meeting, we’ll cover them for you.

Of course! Most of our meetings take place online now, usually through Microsoft Teams, which we know can be a bit scary if you’re not used to technology! But don’t worry, we’ll support anyone who needs a little bit of extra help with getting set up and using the system.

If the thought of the technology’s putting you off (we know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!), just let us know. There’s still lots of ways you can be involved and we’d love to help you make it happen!
