The latest customer voice panel survey asked about volunteering as we wanted to find out what sort of volunteering opportunities we should offer to benefit our customers and how these should be promoted.

We found an incredible 70 per cent of respondents had volunteered. A number of panel members suggested volunteering ideas so we’re now looking at offering these opportunities. Where we can’t offer the things people want, we’ll signpost them to other agencies that can.

In the survey 77 per cent of respondents said that access to free training would encourage them to volunteer. Because training is such an important part of volunteering we’re working on a core training offer for volunteers, as well access to other relevant training.

We’re planning to advertise volunteering opportunities on our website, and we’re also looking to providing an email volunteering newsletter. Some people suggested a paper newsletter to promote opportunities, but we’ve looked into this and decided that the volunteer opportunities change too frequently to make this possible.
