Yorkshire Housing customers in Bradford have recently been increasing their digital skills at a group training course delivered by “We are digital”.

This was over three sessions delivered by our specialist IT tutors, delivered to the level of the learner, starting with the first steps on how to use a computer, onto how to use online services and even signing onto the YH online portal. All customers who attended the three sessions were gifted a tablet to practice their new skills on.

Victor White, who finished the course said: “I enjoyed the course, it’s a great way to learn, meet new people and prevents social isolation. On the course we were given various websites that will assist me when looking at decision making on household everyday items. Sites such as money saving expert and approved foods will be extremely useful.”

James Haigh, Yorkshire Housing’s community investment manager, said “Our specially designed course introduced customers to the basics of using a computer with one of our specialist tutors, so there was plenty of scope to ask questions and gain a good understanding of basics on using IT. During the course customers also got to complete online applications, use budgeting tools, use CV templates and search to find work online.

“Our next group training course is in Sheffield, so if you are a Yorkshire Housing customer and would like to increase your digital skills, get in touch with us.”

The course is open to Yorkshire Housing tenants aged 18-55, who can get to Sheffield for the next group course.  If you are interested you can book your place by emailing yhee@yorkshirehousing.co.uk.
