This month sees the launch of an ambitious new training programme for front line staff dealing with reports of antisocial behaviour at Yorkshire Housing.

For the first time, staff will be offered up to 9 training and skill development courses covering such topics as ‘drafting witness statements’, ‘legal remedies’ ‘interview skills’ and ‘gathering evidence’. The course will run over a two year period and will be delivered by colleagues within Yorkshire Housing and by external organisations.

Interim head of neighbourhoods Gill Walker said: “This is excellent news and I know colleagues will enjoy the courses and learn from them. We have invested heavily in how we tackle antisocial behaviour: as well as our new computer system, we’ve expanded the antisocial behaviour team and developed better procedures and policies. This is not an easy area of work, so the development of these skills and competences through the training programme will take the service to the next level”.
