Yorkshire Housing customers are being helped into roles at the BGL call centre in Wakefield, thanks to the support given by our employment and enterprise team.

One such success story includes Brian Enright, 63, who had an interview within 24 hours of applying and now starts his new role in two weeks’ time. Brian retired from his role as a self-employed post master earlier this year. The employment and enterprise team helped him prepare for the interview by focusing on his key strengths relating to the role, such as face to face customer service, communication skills and ability to handle complex information. Successful job applicant Brian Enright said:

“I would really like to thank Yorkshire Housing for helping me secure employment with BGL. The employment and enterprise team helped me tweak my CV to meet the job specification and rehearsed some typical interview questions with me and – guess what – they actually did come up! Yorkshire Housing really delivered”

John Bolton, Enterprise Coach, said: “I am really happy that we have managed to help Brian secure a new role with BGL after just 24 hours. By working with companies like BGL and G4S, we can offer our tenants fantastic opportunities. We can also give them all the support and advice they will need to submit an effective applications and be successful at interview.”

“Recruitment at BGL is open ended into October, so I would encourage all our tenants in the Wakefield area to contact us and we can help them to prepare their applications, hopefully getting them into work in 24 hours like we did for Brian.”
