We’ve started work on a new affordable, sustainable development in Holme on Spalding Moor - set to bring 58 gas‑free homes to the area.
Beacon Park, on Sands Lane, is being delivered by Yorkshire Housing with Hoober Urban Partnerships. We’re creating a mix of shared ownership, rent to buy and social rent homes, giving local families affordable options to put down roots.
All the homes will be built without traditional gas boilers. Instead, we’ll use air source heat pumps and solar panels to keep energy bills down and make homes warmer and more comfortable year‑round.
The site received full planning approval in October 2025, and we’re expecting completion around Spring 2027.
Sian Webster, Executive Director of Growth and Assets at Yorkshire Housing, said: “We know families want to stay close to the people who support them, and they need homes that offer security and stability. Our development at Sands Lane will provide exactly that - affordable and sustainable homes that help local families stay in the community they know and love.
“Working with Hoober Homes, we’ve listened closely to residents to make sure this development fits the village and will support local people for generations to come.
“This is also our third gas-free development to get underway in recent months. This means we’re moving away from gas in our new homes, reducing our impact on the environment while building warm, comfortable and energy efficient homes for the future.”
Jordan Stead, Contracts Manager at Hoober Urban Partnerships, added: "This is the first project that Yorkshire Housing and Hoober Urban Partnerships have partnered on, and our first development in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
“We’re proud to be delivering 58 fantastic homes, with a mixed tenure of shared ownership, social rent and rent to buy. This development reflects our shared commitment to creating high-quality homes that provide long-term value to the community.
“We continue to support local authorities in tackling the housing shortage by delivering modern, energy-efficient homes for families and individuals."
Once complete, Beacon Park will provide: 30 shared ownership homes, 5 rent to buy homes and 23 social rent homes.
