Our Customer Voice and Review Committee is growing! Six customers recently joined the committee as new members and this month we held our first official meeting.

The committee is here to make sure the customer voice is always heard and at all levels in Yorkshire Housing. So, what better way to kick things off than teaching our new members about the Social Housing White Paper and how customers should be treated with respect.

At the start of the meeting we were joined by customers involved in the ‘See the Person Campaign’. They’re a nationally elected committee and are even mentioned in the Housing White Paper. The committee focuses on tackling the stigma around social housing and have worked with the Chartered Institute of Housing and TPAS. They represent customers and help raise awareness of stigma around social housing. This was a great opportunity for our committee to learn about a real-life example where customers are leading change.

We’re still looking for new members…

Good news for you, we’re always on the lookout for new customers to join the committee. We’re big on diversity and inclusion. So we’re really interested in hearing from people aged under 30, from the BAME community and from non-socially rented homes.
