Yorkshire Housing, along with Space Homes are working with Vistry to deliver the £8.7m Ripon Road development, which will have 73 homes in total, consisting of 37 affordable homes and 36 for sale.
The new development has been created to boost the area’s affordable housing provision, with the two and three-bedroom homes available for affordable rent through Yorkshire Housing and shared ownership through Space Homes. The Ripon Road development also offers a greener way of living through electric vehicle charging points at each property, making environmentally friendly travel a more viable option for the new residents. The development was completed in mid-September.
Sian Grindley, Director of Development at Yorkshire Housing, said: “We’re proud to have worked on this scheme to create a mixed housing offer, including low cost home ownership and affordable rented homes as well as those for sale. We’re delighted to have worked with the Vistry and with the support of Homes England and Space Homes.
“The development gives customers the chance to have a place they’re proud to call home. There is a need for more affordable homes across Yorkshire, including homes that give people the chance to step on to the property ladder. We’re committed to building a total of 8,000 new mixed tenure homes by 2030 and this scheme has significantly contributed to this.”
Andrew Poyner, Managing Director at Vistry Partnerships Yorkshire, said: “We’re delighted to have worked with Yorkshire Housing to deliver these much needed homes in such a fantastic location. We’ve delivered almost 200 affordable homes in partnership with Yorkshire Housing over the last three years through our land-led development service, with a further 150 new homes under construction.”
