Our garden award entries are closed
A huge thank you to everyone who entered this year's Garden Awards. We've loved seeing the care, creativity and hard work that's gone into gardens and green spaces across our communities.
From colourful flower beds and thriving vegetable patches to beautiful shared spaces and clever sustainable ideas, you've certainly made it a tough job for our judges!
What happens next?
Our judges are now looking through all the entries to choose the top ten finalists. If your garden is shortlisted, we'll be in touch to arrange a visit so we can see it in person before choosing our winners.
The prizes
The top ten finalists will get a gardening bundle:
- Gift voucher worth £25
- Five packs of seeds
- A hand-painted plant pot
And the five winners will get their green fingers on the ultimate prize, a Yorkshire Housing garden awards trophy and their voucher will be topped up to £100, too!

Dates for your diary
- Competition closes at 11:59pm on 27th July 2026
- We’ll visit the top ten entrants between 17th and 23rd August 2026 (if you’re unavailable during these dates we’re happy to arrange an alternative)
- Final judging will happen at Yorkshire Housing by Friday 28th August 2026.
- Winners will be sent a celebration email and invited to an in person awards ceremony, taking place in September.
FAQs
If you live in a Yorkshire Housing home, you can nominate your own garden, communal space or your neighbour’s garden (with their permission if they’re also a Yorkshire Housing customer), or someone else can nominate you. We’ll also be encouraging our colleagues to be on the lookout for well kept gardens to nominate too.
Fill out the garden awards entry form and click ‘submit’! Make sure you enter before the competition closes on 27th July 2026 at 11:59pm.
We’ve got a judging panel made up of Yorkshire Housing colleagues and will be looking for some customers to join it too, as well as volunteers from Spring Vale Community Garden. If you’d like more info or to sign up, drop us an email to customerengagement@yorkshirehousing.co.uk
