Our colleagues successfully raised £15,000 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, a charity that provides critical care and transport to 5 million people across Yorkshire.
The money was raised through a variety of events organised by our colleagues over the past year, which was then matched pound for pound by Yorkshire Housing, bringing the total to an impressive £30,000!
The suggestion to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance was from a former colleague who personally experienced the charity’s crucial work. His friend had a fall while they were on a walk in the Dales together, suffering spinal injuries. Yorkshire Air Ambulance came to their rescue and provided life-saving care.
Our Chief Executive, Nick Atkin, said:
"I’m over the moon that we’ve been able to reach our fundraising target all thanks to the amazing efforts of our colleagues.
“From 3 marathons in 2 days right through to a skydive challenge and series of bake sales and raffles – they did it all and I’m super proud of what we’ve achieved.
“The money is going to an incredible life-saving Yorkshire charity and I’m so glad the money we’ve raised will support them with their life-saving care.”
The charity is funded entirely by donations from the public and needs £19,000 every single day to keep both of their air ambulance helicopters maintained and in the air.
