Yorkshire Housing customer shortlisted for Women in Housing Award

An inspirational Yorkshire Housing customer has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award.

Tracey Tucker, who lives in Barnsley, has been a Yorkshire Housing customer for eight years and will be among the nominees for Committee Member of the Year at the Women in Housing Awards in June.

The ceremony will take place at Manchester Central, alongside Housing 2022; Europe’s largest housing festival, on 27 June.

Tracey has played an important role as the chair of Yorkshire Housing’s Customer Complaints and Review Committee (CVRC) since she took up the role at the beginning of last year. The committee gives customers a greater say in how services are provided and gets them involved in shaping how things are done.

Over the past year Tracey has been instrumental in growing the CVRC; recruiting fourteen new members and developing training and work programmes. She has also helped improve Yorkshire Housing’s repairs service, establishing ten new customer service principals and has helped create several customer champions in areas such as climate change and complaints.

When asked about her shortlisting Tracey said: “I’m extremely humbled to be shortlisted for this award. I see it as recognition for the committee, rather than a personal one just for me. Making sure customers have a voice is really important and I’m really proud to be part of the CVRC.

Yorkshire Housing would like to congratulate Tracey on her shortlisting and wish her the very best of luck for the awards ceremony in June.
