Work restarts on 113-home Menston development with new contractors

We're pleased to announce that the construction of 113 new affordable homes at our Derry Hill development in Menston is back underway.

After the previous developers, Tolent, went into administration, we started the process of finding a new contractor to move the site forward and recently appointed Termrim Construction to continue the works.

The development - which has funding support from Homes England - will include shared ownership and affordable rent homes, delivering much-needed housing opportunities for people in this sought-after West Yorkshire community.

Sian Webster, director of development at Yorkshire Housing, said: “We're sorry that work stopping on site has been a frustration for local residents - that’s why we’re happy to now share this news that the development has restarted.

“The construction industry is going through a tough time with rising costs making it more expensive to build new homes.

“Yorkshire Housing is determined to keep on building though and will continue to deliver thousands of new affordable homes across Yorkshire.”

The Derry Hill development includes a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, with completion scheduled for around Autumn 2026.

Jason McGarvey, commercial director at Termrim Construction, added: “We’re really pleased to be appointed by our longstanding client Yorkshire Housing to complete this new development in Menston.

“Whilst the site has a number of challenges to overcome, following extensive investigations and recent design development it is now in a position to be delivered successfully and bring about the much-needed new and affordable homes to the Yorkshire region.”
