We welcomed the Member of Parliament for Harrogate and Knaresborough, Andrew Jones MP, to our £24 million development at Castle Locke, Knaresborough on Friday 4th February.
Mr Jones was joined by Yorkshire Housing Chief Executive Nick Atkin, Executive Director of Growth Andy Gamble, Steven Harrison, Development Project Manager and Sally Lynch, Head of Sales.
He was shown around the site and spoke with some of team who are delivering the 120 home development. Homes will be available through shared ownership, affordable rent, rent to buy and market sale.
All the homes at Castle Locke will benefit from electric vehicle charging points as part of our effort to tackle the climate crisis and future proof our homes.
Sian Grindley, Director of Development at Yorkshire Housing said: “We are delighted to be working with Vistry to deliver this important scheme. Knaresborough is a thriving market town and the Castle Locke development will meet the demand for quality, affordable homes in the area.
“The development gives people the chance to have a place they’re proud to call home. There’s a need for more affordable homes across Yorkshire, including homes that give people the chance to step on to the property ladder. We’re committed to building a total of 8,000 new mixed tenure homes by 2030 and this scheme will help us achieve this.”
Mr Jones was also joined by Nigel Wilson, Chair of Homes for the North who said: “Thank you to Andrew for his visit to Yorkshire Housing and his continued engagement with Homes for the North. We really value the support of our local MPs and together we can deliver good quality homes to help deliver thriving communities and a strong economy for the North of England.”
Andrew Poyner, who is Managing Director at Vistry said: “We’re proud to be working with our partners at Yorkshire Housing once more, securing and developing a key residential site for Knaresborough, and delivering a range of housing opportunities for local people.”
The scheme is due to be completed in 2024.
