We’ve loved reopening our community centres over the past few weeks. We know a lot of you have missed taking part in community activities so it’s great to see you reunited and back in action.

We also understand that getting back up and running again isn’t simple for every group. That’s where we come in. We want to help you make things in our communities.

So, we’re relaunching our community independence grant. This is a pot of money up to the value of £500. If you’re in a customer or community group, or part of a local charity, you can apply for this grant and use it to make a difference in your neighbourhood. Sound like something you’d be interested in? Take a look at our Grant Guidance.

Ready to apply? Apply here.

In the past, we’ve funded things like summer sports programmes for young people and community garden and cafe makeovers. This year we’re prioritising projects and events linked to:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Digital skills
  • Young people
  • Social inclusion

Got an awesome idea for a community project, but not quite ready to apply for a grant? We’d still love to hear from you. We can help you develop your idea and make it happen.

Email us at communityenquiries@yorkshirehousing.co.uk and tell us about your idea and the community benefits.

We can’t wait to share more updates about the grant and stories from our amazing communities. We’re launching a page dedicated to the community independence grant on our website soon – watch this space!
