Yorkshire Housing has successfully secured grant funding to provide a further 1,300 new homes for shared ownership, affordable rent and significantly new social rent. The funding is part of the Homes England announcement on its latest round of housing associations that will receive funding as of part of its strategic partnership approach.
Andy Gamble, director of development at Yorkshire Housing said:
“We are delighted to have received the support of Homes England for the next round of strategic partnerships. We now look forward to getting started on this new initiative, building new homes and building on our success.
“This extra funding will help us deliver an additional 1,300 homes beyond our existing strategic priority to complete 3,120 homes before March 2021. The sector faces a desperate need for new social homes and partnerships like this will help us deliver and keep our customers at the forefront of what we do”.
Will Lifford, chair of Yorkshire Housing said:
“The announcement today builds on our ambitious growth strategy to build more new homes in the Yorkshire region. This deal will enable us to continue to play a major part in addressing the housing crisis and provide genuinely affordable homes in Yorkshire”.
