We are delighted to have had our community investment team been finalists for frontline team of the year, in the 2017 Housing Heroes awards.
Our community investment team have been recognised for their work to help customers into employment or training, gain a better job or start up a business. For a young team they are making a big impact. They have supported 206 people into employment, 256 people into training and 302 with their businesses. The team has embedded their principles and are now setting their sights on the 2020 vision of 1,000 people into employment, better jobs, training and volunteering.
Community investment manager James Haigh said: “We’re disappointed we didn’t win but we were against some tough competition. I’m very proud of the team for being one of four finalists. This is recognition of all their hard work and passion. They enjoy helping individuals to reach their potential and keeping their independence. Supporting people to sustain their tenancies is at the heart of what we do.”
The awards shine a spotlight on the best teams and individuals that make housing so great. They reward the outstanding contribution of teams within housing and acknowledge the hard work of our ‘unsung heroes’. The awards are part of the opening ceremony in one Europe’s biggest housing events organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing.
