Yorkshire Housing have partnered with Cast Youth Theatre to give opportunities for some young residents to get into drama.

Cast is Doncaster’s flagship arts centre and supports access to culture and the arts. The partnership with Yorkshire Housing will target young people across the area.

Yorkshire Housing will be providing community funding to provide free places for children of our tenants. It’s aimed at those aged 8 to 11 (Little Lights), 11 to 14 Spotlights and 14 to 16 Floodlights.

Community investment manager James Haigh said: Yorkshire Housing are pleased to be involved with the Cast programme. Local children and young people have the opportunity to develop their performance skills in Cast’s state-of-the-art theatre space. The theatre will provide high quality youth arts provision for one year over three terms, for three different age groups from eight to sixteen. Tenants can apply and book a place quoting YHYOUTH17 to the Cast box office on 01302 303 959 or email places are limited.”

Head of participation Sarah Clough said: “We are very happy to be working with Yorkshire Housing and your residents. Cast Youth Theatre is the perfect opportunity for children and young people to gain skills in the performing arts, grow in confidence and make new friends. We hope to get lots of enquiries and interest from your younger residents.”
