It’s great that the 14th annual National Apprenticeship Week is taking place from 8 to 14 February 2021, this year the theme is #BuildTheFuture.
Because of Covid-19 much of it will take place on line, we want to use the week as a platform to come together and celebrate apprenticeship journeys and successes as well as to say ‘Thank You’ to everyone who makes them possible.
At Yorkshire Housing we will be celebrating the success of our apprenticeship programme by showcasing apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.
Some of the events lined up for the week at Yorkshire Housing include:
Monday – We will be joining the Leeds “virtual” Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair on Monday 8 February through Apprentice Week. .
Tuesday – On Twitter an opportunity to #AskAnEmployer at Yorkshire Housing about our apprenticeships, starting at midday.
Wednesday – Are you considering an #apprenticeship? Have questions to ask? Don’t forget to join #AskAnApprentice Q&A between 12 noon and 2pm.
Also on Wednesday we will also have an online awards ceremony to congratulate our Yorkshire Housing apprentices.
Thursday – A short film from Pete Rowbotham, electrical & facilities manager, explains the benefits of apprenticeships from a manager perspective at Yorkshire housing.
Since opening its doors to its first apprentice in 2007, Yorkshire Housing has seen over 100 apprentices working with us, with over 70 percent securing fulltime positions.
Our opportunities have included areas of Marketing/Communications; Business Administration; ICT, Finance, Customer Services, Environmental Service/ Horticulture; Electrical; Multi-trade/ Handyperson and Gas. Apprentices can gain a fully funded nationally recognised qualification as well as real work experience in teams across Yorkshire.
Senior people development coordinator Kiran Olak said: I am proud that the Yorkshire Housing apprenticeship scheme attracts highly engaged, talented and innovative people. We are committed to helping our apprentices find the career that’s right for them. As a top 100 apprenticeship employer our apprentices are proud to work for us. We’re passionate in supporting the success of our apprentices.”
Charlotte Thristan, Level 3 digital content producer apprentice said: “I would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone. I’ve been so happy to start my career as a digital content producer apprentice. It’s been a great way to learn more about the job whilst earning, as well as getting great support from Yorkshire Housing.”
If you or someone you know is looking for an opportunity to shine, point them in the direction of Yorkshire Housing’s apprenticeship scheme where they can grow their skills, gain a professional qualification, earn above the national minimum wage and build a firm foundation for the start of a new and exciting career.
Applications for our 2021 apprenticeship jobs will open in June 2021, with two Customer Experience Adviser Apprentice roles going live in Apprenticeship Week 2021. You can register your interest to receive notifications on our apprenticeship pages.
