Mervyn Jones joined Yorkshire Housing as chief executive in June 2008. He has been involved with the housing sector for more than 30 years, having previously worked as chief executive at Willow Park, a major urban stock transfer in Manchester, and housing organisations in London, the North West and Yorkshire.
Mervyn is a board member of the National Housing Federation and former board member of Plus Dane Housing Group. He has an MBA from Sheffield Hallam University, where he is a visiting fellow, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Director of customer services
Michelle is responsible for Yorkshire Housing’s neighbourhoods, customer services and care and support services.
She joined us in 2015 from Merseyside and Cheshire-based Plus Dane group where she was interim executive director of neighbourhoods. Her previous roles include deputy chief executive for North West-based Your Housing Group.
Director of property services
David has been director of property services since 2008 and is responsible for the delivery of Yorkshire Housing’s property related services to 18,000 homes across Yorkshire and 1,600 Leeds City Council homes. David also takes responsibility for health and safety, landlord compliance services and is lead director for Yorkshire Housing’s home improvement agencies.
David is a board member of Yorkshire Transformations Ltd and a trustee of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. An alumnus of the University of Central Lancashire, David also supports the University Business School in a voluntary capacity.
David is married with three children and lives in the Ribble Valley.
Director of finance
Guy joined the group in 2001 and has held a number of finance roles before becoming director of finance in February 2015. As well as being Yorkshire Housing’s chief financial officer, Guy also leads on business planning, governance, risk and assurance.
A chartered accountant with a background in the not for profit sector including charities, education and housing, Guy is currently a board member at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing. He lives in Leeds with his wife and three children.
Director of business transformation
Gillian leads Tomorrow’s Yorkshire, our exciting transformation programme that will ensure the organisation is geared up to meet the challenges of a changing sector.
Her remit includes a major programme of work to improve our internal and external digital offering and increase efficiency through culture change. She also leads the resources teams which include business projects and improvements, ICT, HR and communications. Gillian joined from British Gas where she was in charge of business change and transformation. She began her career as an accountant with Centrica, the British Gas parent group.
Director of development
Andy joined Yorkshire Housing in June 2017. He has over 30 years’ experience in the affordable housing sector, working with public and private companies. He previously worked at Accent Group where he led on development and growth since 2005.
Andy began his career with British Waterways Board, as an assistant mining surveyor. He is a chartered surveyor and member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
