Sheltered Housing
Sheltered accommodation schemes in Yorkshire Housing Group
Sheltered accommodation schemes are designed to help older people remain independent in a secure and supportive setting.
Each scheme is of a group of homes with either a resident or non-resident warden or scheme manager employed by Yorkshire Housing Group. Their role is to try and ensure the general well-being of all residents in the scheme.
Support Plan
These have been introduced under the Supporting People initiative. They encourage residents to review their situation with their warden or scheme manager to see if the most appropriate advice and help is being given to help them retain their independence. The plan might include involving others such as a GP, social services or support workers where appropriate and liaising with them.
Communal facilities

Schemes will provide a variety of communal facilities which might include a communal lounge, laundry and guest rooms.
24-hour cover
For all schemes there is someone on hand to handle emergency calls day and night, 365 days a year.
In addition to the sheltered accommodation schemes around North, South and West Yorkshire, the Group also provides other levels of support to older and vulnerable persons throughout the region.
