Gas Services

Gas servicing at Yorkshire Housing Group

We take our commitment to gas safety seriously and insist that all appliances are serviced annually. These checks take about an hour depending on the number of  our gas appliances in your home.
 
We will write to you to let you know when the service will take place which you can arrange for another day and ask for a morning or afternoon appointment.
 
If after repeated attempts we cannot gain access we will either get a court injunction or take court action to repossess your home.
 
Gas appliances that are not regularly serviced can become costly to run and even dangerous to you and those living near you.

If you smell gas:

Call Transco immediately on 0800 111 999
 
After Transco have visited call 0845 60 60 665 and ask for an engineer to call.

To comply with current gas regulations, we are legally obliged to carry out an annual gas safety check on all our gas boilers and gas appliances.
 
It is part of our tenancy agreement that you allow us access to your home for this reason. Failure to comply will result in your tenancy being at risk.
