Furniture Letting
Renting furniture and kitchen appliances for your home
New customers who cannot provide their own can rent furniture and kitchen appliances from Yorkshire Housing Group. Items available for rent include:
- two-seater settees
- dining tables and chairs
- gas or electric cookers
- fridges or fridge/freezers
- beds
- carpets
How can I rent furniture?
Before signing up for a new home ask a Housing Officer if you are eligible to rent furniture. If you are, the officer will help you choose and order what you need. You will be asked to sign for the items you are renting from us and accept responsibility for them.
Will I get new or used items?
Some are new and some are used. Used items are professionally cleaned and are in good working order.
How do I pay?
We collect the rent for furniture and kitchen appliances with the rent for your home. We can help you find out if housing benefit will pay for the rental of items.
How much will the rent be?
It will be affordable and based on the value of each item. If after three years you want to carry on renting the items, we will halve the rent you pay.
What about repairs?
We will arrange repairs resulting from normal wear and tear.
What standards of service can I expect?
We will:
- provide good quality items that meet all current safety and performance standards
- use reputable and approved contractors.
