Repair recharge information
We have updated our policy and procedures for the way we charge customers for repairs to their homes.
The full policy document is available for you to download. The current list of chargeable repairs is available below.
How much do rechargeable repairs cost?
The cost of a repair will vary, depending on the nature of the work. The minimum charge hasn't changed and remains at £51.70, which does cover most small jobs.
For larger jobs, or where we have to repair extensive damage, you'll be advised at the time of what you can expect to pay.
When will a repair need to be paid for?
If a chargeable repair poses a health and safety risk to you or anyone living in your home, works will be carried out urgently, regardless of whether you are in a position to make the payment upfront.
If you would like us to carry out work that is not urgent or posing a risk, you will need to pay before work begins. If you would like to pay in instalments, your Income Officer can arrange it for you.
If wish to have work carried out which is not necessary, for example, installation of an appliance, we will need to send a surveyor to do a safety check. This visit is chargeable to you at the minimum cost.
If you have any questions or would like more details, please contact your Income Officer or the Repairs Helpdesk on 0845 60 60 665 (BT local rate).
Our most common rechargable repairs
We looked at the repairs that we've done in the last twelve months and have extended our price list to include the most common chargeable repairs, though this is not exhaustive.
Prices are correct at time of publication and are subject to change. The next review is set for 2014 but our arrangements with contractors and indeed the rate of VAT may change before then.
