North Yorkshire Homechoice

Choice Based Lettings in North Yorkshire

Ten housing associations and local authorities in North Yorkshire, including Yorkshire Housing, have come together to develop one single lettings scheme for council and housing association housing, called North Yorkshire Homechoice.

North Yorkshire Homechoice will replace the existing lettings schemes of Yorkshire Housing and the other partners and will be based on customer choice, meaning that vacant properties will be advertised, and applicants registered with the scheme will be able to bid (show interest) for the homes. In time, this process of advertising will include other housing related services such as mutual exchanges and low cost home ownership.

You can apply to the scheme by either:

• Applying online via the North Yorkshire Homechoice website
• Completing a paper application form which can be downloaded from the North Yorkshire Homechoice website
• Obtaining a paper application form from our York, Malton or Skipton local office

The first adverts of vacant properties will be on 7 July 2011 and weekly thereafter.
