Yorkshire Housing breaks into the top 50 developers list
Yorkshire Housing for the first time has been named as one of the countries top 50 biggest developers of social housing. The list compiled annually by Inside Housing names Yorkshire Housing in the 50 spot for planning to build 950 homes.
The average number of homes being built by the top 50 developing housing associations is 2,311 and the survey reports that 5,750 fewer houses are being built this year than last year. However this is not the case for Yorkshire Housing whose development programme is going from strength to strength.
Ged Walsh, Business and Development Director at Yorkshire Housing said:
“We are pleased to become one of the top 50 developing housing associations in the country, we work exclusively in the Yorkshire region and as such see this as an even greater achievement to all our developments which are focused in 12 local authority areas.
“We have kept expanding our development programme during the last two years when many housing associations were reducing theirs; and we would like to thank all our local authority partners and the Homes and Communities Agency for their continued support during this time.”
The figures issued by Inside Housing cover each association's proposed development timeline which includes homes that will be built several years in the future.
