Paying Your Rent
How to pay your rent
You can pay your rent by:
Direct Debit
Payments are made fortnightly for Ryedale Housing Association (RHA) customers, or monthly for Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing (YMH), Craven Housing and Brunel Housing customers.

We will let you know in advance of any changes to the amount debited. We will also pay customers £15 when they set up a new Direct Debit account with us.
Download a Direct Debit Form here, or ask for one at your local area office where you can get more information on Direct Debit.
Debit card
Rent can be paid at any time of night or day by debit card on our secure website.
Tenants of YMH and RHA can also pay by debit card at their area offices (this payment method should be in place within the next 2-3 months).
Standing order
Rent can be paid weekly or monthly. Ask for a form from your local area office.
Post Office
You can pay by cash or debit card at any Post Office. To do so you must use the Post Office payment card issued at the start of your tenancy.
Cash/Cheque/Postal Order
You can pay with these at any of our offices.
Post
Post cheques or postal orders to any of our offices, but don’t send cash.
Rent arrears
We rely on the income from rent payments to provide our high level of management, maintenance and repair of homes and to repay money borrowed to build new homes.
Most tenants understand the importance of paying their rent on time, which we appreciate, but some fall into arrears. Before any court action is taken we will offer the services of a community initiatives adviser who will work out easily affordable repayments. However, we do take action for repossession and court costs against those people who refuse to pay their rent. Please contact a community initiative adviser or your housing officer for confidential help if you are worried about arrears.
