Innovative older persons housing scheme to open in York
An innovative £1.4 million housing scheme in York is officially launched by Ryedale Housing Association (RHA).
RHA, part of Yorkshire Housing Group (YHG), has transformed Garth Court sheltered housing scheme in Huntington into a “sheltered housing with care” facility, comprising 36 apartments to support independent living for older people.

The latest housing development from Harrogate Borough Council, in partnership with Yorkshire Housing and the Housing Corporation, is to be named after one of its most famous sons - the Victorian artist William Powell Frith. The council’s housing and planning policy has delivered 13 affordable apartments on a private development of 20 (built by Mark Oliver Homes) to be known as Frith Court on Knaresborough Road, Harrogate.

Young People Awarded Positive-Socisl Behaviour Orders for Community Work
Seven young people from across Yorkshire are to receive an award with a difference to recognise their contribution to the local community. Instead of being hit with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBOs), the ‘Magnificent Seven’ will be served with Positive-Social Behaviour Orders (PoSBOs) by Yorkshire Housing Group.
Housing Association launches initiative to clean-up communities, January 2007
A Bradford housing association is launching ‘Operation Clean Sweep’ a massive clean up campaign to transform rundown neighbourhoods into safe and secure communities. Operation Clean Sweep is a ground-breaking scheme that has recruited customers with learning disabilities, young people and local residents to act as Community Caretakers who are responsible for cleaning up. Customers have also volunteered to act as Community Champions to help with the monitoring of the work and to ensure the areas stay clean.
