We are a not-for-profit home improvement agency operated by Yorkshire Housing in partnership with Sheffield City Council.
What does Sheffield Stay Put do?
We operate in the Sheffield area, providing independent advice on repairs, improvements and adaptations for clients, particularly those aged 60 and over and to disabled people of all ages.

Our staff can visit you at home to discuss what your options are.

Handy Person Service
We are now offering a handyperson service that will support Sheffield's elderly to stay in their own homes.
The service aims to enable Sheffield residents who are elderly or who have a disability or life long limiting illness, maintain their independence and stay living in their own home safely.
What does the handyperson do?
The handyperson service can carry out several small repairs and minor adaptations to your home which can include:
- Installing grab rails, hand rails and additional stair rails.
- Putting up curtain poles and shelves
- Home safety checks including installing locks and safety chains
- Securing loose carpets and falls prevention
- Moving furniture
Who is the service for?
The service is for Sheffield Residents who are aged 65 and over or are under 65 if you have a disability or life long limiting illness.
How much does it cost?
The labour is free to eligible residents. A charge will be made for any materials supplied by the Handy Person Service.
