PoSBOs
Yorkshire Housing recognises the efforts of young people from across Yorkshire in the organisation's annual PoSBO awards.
The awards are presented to young people who are:
- A Yorkshire Housing tenant, that has done great work in the community
- A young person who has done something positive for a Yorkshire Housing tenant
The awards aim to break the ASBO stereotype many young people are labelled with and instead celebrate the positive work they do and reward them for their efforts in making their local communities happier and friendlier.
The awards are open to all young people under the age of 25.
Of the awards, Steven Gayle, Community Development Advisor at Yorkshire Housing, said:
"Many young people are fed up with the stereotype that they are part of an ASBO generation. At Yorkshire Housing we want to celebrate the positive contribution they make to society.
"With anti social behaviour so prevalent in the media we want to take time to highlight the great work that young people are doing and make sure these young people get the recognition they deserve."
