What we do and how we do it
Grass, shrubs, borders and trees
We mow grass, prune shrubs and cut back flowering plants regularly and weed on every visit.
Hedges will be cut outside the nesting season and trees will be inspected twice yearly.
Hard-surfaced areas
Moss and weeds will be cleared out as necessary and leaves and rubbish cleared at each visit. Gullies and drains will be cleared when needed.
Health hazards
Dog fouling and hypodermic needles will be safely removed. If a major problem arises, please report it to your area office.
Garden furniture
Every time they visit, contractors will inspect Yorkshire Housing's garden furniture, planters and benches and wash them down if necessary.
Snow and ice
At sheltered schemes snow will be cleared and grit spread as necessary. All grit bins will be checked and refilled if needed.
Standards
Work will be regularly inspected and employment and health and safety checks made on contractors.
If the contractors cause any damage, it must be reported to Yorkshire Housing within 24 hours.
Other Issues
If you would like to report anti-social behaviour by your neighbours or anyone else (dumping garden waste, dog-fouling etc.), please refer to the advice on our tackling anti-social behaviour page.
If you would like to make a complaint about maintenance services, or any Yorkshire Housing employee, please use our complaint form.
