This census form asks for up to date information about you and your household. Please answer as many questions as you can. If you feel some of the questions are too personal you can choose the 'prefer not to say' option.

What will we do with the information?

All information you give us will be handled sensitively and in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We will use it in the following ways:

• To keep our records and systems up to date and accurate
• To make sure we take account of your needs when we visit you or send you information, for example if you need us to knock loudly or want help filling in forms.
• To remind us to contact you when things are about to change, for example changes to your Housing Benefit when your children reach 18.
• To monitor our services to make sure they are being provided fairly to everyone.
• To help us lobby for resources in the future to meet the changing needs of our customers.
• To help us target our efforts in tackling any problems

We will be able to do some of these things straight away, like monitoring our services. Other things may take a little longer to put in place, like sending you correspondence in another language or format. This is because we have asked for a lot of information from all our customers and it will take some time for all our computer systems to be updated so we can use this information effectively.

We expect you to have a lot of questions about the census and why we are asking for so much information from you, including the information which is very personal.
