Lisa Broome
Support Worker,
Yorkshire Housing
Lisa started work with Support Works in June 2009 as a Support Worker. Her role is to provide varying levels of support to customers with learning disabilities within their own home and out in the community.
She really enjoys her job and feels that it has given her a great opportunity to meet some interesting people, build strong relationships and get involved with social activities with customers.
Every day is different, interesting and provides her with an exciting challenge. She feels there is a great sense of team work within support works and she has received lots of support and guidance from colleagues, team leaders and managers.
Robert Hardy
Customer Services Manager,
Yorkshire Housing
Robert made the move into the housing sector four years ago, wanting to experience the challenges of a sector that was focussed on one of the most essential human needs.
"Moving into the housing sector has been a great experience for me. We get the chance to support a diverse range of customers across the Yorkshire region on a daily basis. It's my job to challenge the organisation to provide the best service for our customers. It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to know that I'm helping to improve services for our customers."
"When I first joined Yorkshire Housing, working across the different areas of the organisation was a daunting prospect. Yorkshire Housing covers a wide range of different activities and projects over a large geographical area - but as I travelled round, I always found my colleagues very welcoming, supportive and open to new ideas."
"I really enjoy working for Yorkshire Housing and I'm excited as to what we're going to accomplish in the future."
Jacquie Marshall
Office Manager,
Space Property
Jacquie Marshall, who has been with Yorkshire Housing for 30 years, was one of the original members of staff for Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing (now amalgamated with Yorkshire Housing).
Jacquie's dedication was recognised by Jon Rouse, Chief Executive of the Housing Corporation - the Government body responsible for funding social housing in the UK. Mr Rouse presented Jacquie with a bouquet of flowers and congratulated her on her efforts.
Jacquie, an office manager at Space Property, our market rents and Homebuy part of Yorkshire Housing said: "It's a great job - no two days are ever alike. We do hear some sad stories but it is nice to be able to help people in need."
"One of the most rewarding things is when someone's offered a house and they collect the keys from us to view it and they come back chuffed to bits - that's really nice."
Jacquie started her career in 1974 as a shorthand typist and general assistant on £27 a week and was one of only three employees.
