Board Members
Brian Cottam Chair
Brian is a retired Property Surveyor with experience of running subsidiary companies for a national house builder and his own property development company.
Brian has extensive involvement as a volunteer within the community. Brian has been Chair of Yorkshire Housing since August 2005.
He is also a member of the Space Property Board and Finance, Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees.
Jim Taylor Vice Chair
Jim is Managing Director of Dossor Group, Consulting Engineers & Surveyors. He has extensive experience of business, financial planning, management, property development and expert investigations.
Jim is Vice Chair of the Space Property Board and also a member of Finance and Nominations Committees, and East Operational Committee.
Michael Backhouse
Michael is a Chartered Accountant and has a wide range of finance and audit skills. He was Chair of Audit Committee for many years and is now Chair of Finance Committee.
Michael is also a member of Audit and Remuneration Committees.
Jacqui Bateson
Jacqui is a Financial Manager at Skipton Building Society. She has a wide range of financial, analytical and project management skills.
Jacqui is Chair of Audit Committee and of Craven Operational Committee, and is a member of Remuneration Committee.
Doreen Benson
Doreen is retired and has extensive experience of the care sector through work and volunteering. She has business experience gained from running her market garden business.
Doreen is Chair of Central Operational Committee.
Harold Burnip
Harold is retired having enjoyed a varied working life with the National Coal Board, the Armed Forces and on building sites. He is passionate about tenant involvement and has helped establish several tenants groups.
Harold is Vice Chair of South Operational Committee.
Margaret Hamilton
Margaret is retired with a business background having worked in catering and in her son’s fashion design and manufacturing business, managing the retail shop.
Margaret is a member of Nominations Committee and Craven Operational Committee.
Imelda Havers
Imelda Havers is Managing Director of York-based BlueFish Regeneration Ltd, a company which specialises in developing and delivering regeneration projects across the UK. BlueFish has a strong focus on coastal and rural regeneration.
With over 30 years experience across the private and public sector, Imelda was previously Chief Executive of the York and North Yorkshire Inward Investment Board.
Asif Malek
Asif is a Business Manager for DTZ, an international firm of Property Advisers. He is a professionally qualified accountant with extensive business and financial management experience.
Asif is a member of Finance Committee.
Richard Quinton
Richard is a retired social work senior manager. He has extensive experience within local authorities and voluntary organisations, particularly working with young people.
Richard is Chair of North Operational Committee and a member of Nominations Committee.
Nasim Qureshi
Nasim is Senior Regeneration Manager with Bradford Council and has a wealth of housing experience gained through a number of roles working for local authorities and housing associations.
Nasim is Chair of Brunel Operational Committee.
Martin Simpson
Martin is a serving Judge and has extensive legal knowledge and valuable analytical skills. His experience of Housing Association work is wide and he is a past Chair.
Martin is a member of Remuneration and Foundation Committees and West Operational Committee.
