This year’s Annual General Meeting was another roaring success with a good turnout of staff, Board members, stakeholders and customers who came to the event at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Guests were treated to a viewing of our latest films, which included the recent employment and opportunities video that showcases our apprenticeship scheme, and a video about our Community Engagement work.
At the main meeting, following Jim Taylor’s welcome and the report on our financial accounts we had our keynote speaker, David Perry, who is one of our Service Inspectors, talk about the role he plays and the importance of the Service Inspector team to Yorkshire Housing.
We also welcomed four new members to our Board. Sean Benbow, chair of our Customer Services Committee; Lucy Drake, an HR professional with experience of the housing sector; Keith Holloway, a former housing Chief Executive; and Kathleen Kelly, Programme Manager at Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
Jim Taylor, Chair of the Yorkshire Housing Board said:
“The AGM is one of the most important dates in the year for me and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
The continued recession has made it another hard year, but it’s great to report to our members that we are in a good position and ready to take on the next year with a dedicated team of staff, board and stakeholders.”
