Yorkshire Housing is delighted to announce that it is launching a new service for customers in South Yorkshire.
Available to all social housing tenants in the area, the Business Enterprise Service will provide practical support and advice for those interested in starting their own business or community enterprise, even working from home.
A Business Enterprise Coach will provide one to one, confidential advice for customers who have a business idea but are not sure how to get it started.
The service will also support customers with training courses, workshops and networking opportunities.
Yorkshire Housing Business Enterprise Coach Nikki Flett said:
“Many social housing tenants don’t think that self employment could be an option for them but it can be a great way to work flexibly, improve a community and earn a wage.
“However, turning a business idea into reality can be daunting, as well as exciting and rewarding. I will be there to support customers on their journey into self-employment and will continue to be there for advice and support once they are trading.”
The Business Enterprise Service is planned exclusively for social housing customers, addressing all of the technical and legal issues around benefits and working from home and is free of charge.
If you are a social housing customer in Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham or Doncaster, would like to know more about self employment or have a community enterprise idea contact Nikki on 07584 312092 or email Nicola.Flett@yorkshirehousing.co.uk.
