Work placements work

Yorkshire Housing has taken part in a Sector-based Work Academy, arranged with Job Centre Plus and other Bradford-based housing associations.

The academy offered 15 young job seekers the chance to undertake two weeks of customer service training, followed by a six week placement at one of the housing associations involved.

Simeon Reid, Hayley Firth and Usman Butt spent their time in teams across YH. And we’re pleased to say that all three of them have accepted six-month work placements with us. Simeon will continue his work with the Community Engagement Team, Hayley will continue her role in HomeWorks and Usman will work as part of Space Property.

Simeon said:

“I think that doing the work placement has helped me get back into a working routine. Being really focused again and learning about a working sector I’d never considered before has been wonderful.”
